Oh guess i ain't the only one!! I am just pissed OFF At&t US would be like that.NOT allow full use of the lte in mexico, Because like i said in mexico city my aunt that lives there and has a mexican at&t sony phone was getting Lte all over while i was only getting slow 3G. If I were to guess, I think AT&T US customers are being dropped to “3G” on AT&T MX and the preferred roaming technology is "3G".Īnd, basically it's open roaming on any available network because AT&T MX probably can't handle the influx of AT&T US and local customers. Speeds are much better than what I would get than using my AT&T US line. The only time I have been able to use LTE on AT&T MX is in the following places/conditions.ġ.) When I was in Ensenada over the Memorial weekend, I was on the AT&T MX and Movistar, both on their respective LTE networks with my AT&T US line.Ģ.) In one of the colonias in the southern part of Tijuana.ģ.) When drop in my iusacell/unefon SIM, I'm connected to the LTE network. Normally I just use Movistar since this networks is the only one that works for me even though this network is persistently slow. My T-Mobile line isn't much better in either of those places, since I switch between LTE and 3G. But you are right, all of the networks are unusable, it's super slow. In my frequent travels to (the northern part of) Tijuana and Rosarito, using AT&T MX, Telcel, and Movistar only provides me with "3G" when I'm using my AT&T line, I used to be able to connect to LTE on AT&T MX, Telcel, and Movistar network in these two cities. Has any one had any problems roaming with att in mexico? it was sometimes really slow couldnt even load face book or upload pics, while my dad roaming on telcel lte could watch YouTube vids and video chat with out a problem since lte was fast, Nxt time i think ima just take T-Mobile since i saw it works much better and connects to LTE. we both had Lte turned on in the network settings turned of phones and turned them back on took out sim put it back in nothing helped turned them back on still 3G. I WANNA know why were we both connecting to 3G only? My mom and i both phones even when lte was available for both att Mx and telcel. while my dad standing next to me with his T-Mobile galaxy was connecting to TELCEL LTE. not only that in Toluca att mx was spotty so i conected to Telcel and again 3G only. So again what the hell? I really tought att roaming in mexico was gonna be smooth but it was pretty bad and sad. T-Mobile since he got of the airplane connected to TELCEL mexico and he had LTE 99% OF THE TIME. so what the hell? Also when we went to Toluca to visit my other aunt my dad flew in from the states but he has T-Mobile. Big ol 3G icon brought back nostalgia haha haven't seen that 3G icon in years.! Well anyways we were all using the same network but my mom and i that were roaming on att mx had 3G a lot even when my aunt with her Mexican att phone was standing next to us had LTE. Because apparently at&t phones show a 3G icon when roaming if your not on lte they dont show "4G" anymore like they do here in the US when you not on lte. in places my s7 edge and moms iphone 7 plus had 3G icon. While my aunt that we were visiting there in mexico had a mexican At&t phone with a mexican At&t sim card and had LTE ALL OVER MEXICO CITY. But i noticed they both had a hard time staying connected to 4G LTE. And was roaming on At&t MX on both phones. My mom has an iphone 7 plus from At&t and I have an s7 edge plus.
